What we Believe
We believe that God, our Creator, so loves us that He sent His Son into this world to convince us of His love.
Ever since our first parents believed the lie that God can’t be trusted, and disobeyed His word to them, all of us human beings are inclined to reject God’s supreme rule and go our own way. The rejection of God’s wise rule, which calls us to love God above all else and to love our neighbour as ourself, leads to separation from God, which is death. Jesus, God’s Son came to reconcile us to God and bring us life. Jesus acted as our saving representative, obeying God perfectly and making up for our sins by His death on the cross.
Everyone who admits their sinfulness and believes in Jesus as God’s gift for our deliverance from sin and death, receives forgiveness of all their sin and is accepted into God’s beloved family. In the power of the Holy Spirit, we wish to honour God and serve Him by taking care of the people around us and of the world of which God has made us managers.
God wants us to share the Good News of His merciful love with all people and to encourage everyone to trust, worship and serve Him – which is what real living is about.
For those who want a more formal answer: We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and its teaching is our rule for faith and life. We hold to the following confessions of the Reformation:
